‘Summer Spectacles’

Spring has arrived and it has brought a lil bit of summer with it. It’s currently a very toasty 23 degrees here in the Lake Macquarie region of NSW; the skies are an endless powder blue, the birds are chirping happily and I’ve dug out my numerous bikinis that have been residing at the very bottom of my backpack for months. Ahh it’s good to be re-acquainted with you sunshine, my dear friend.

Today will be spent rubbing in the factor 30, enjoying a few glasses of vino in the garden and basking in the glorious sunshine the universe has generously provided.

Is it just me or does summer (or at least a spring day disguised very cleverly as summer) bring out the best in people? Not only do the rays of the sun warm the skin, they penetrate deeper and warm the heart and soul. The shackles of winter are shaken off and people feel free, relaxed and are able to venture outside without layering and the insesentΒ sound of chattering teeth. Maybe it’s all that vitamin D, maybe it’s just how I see things through my ‘summer spectacles’ but I think the world is a nicer, happier, friendlier place when we’re all walking around in flip-flops and sunnies πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘™βœŒ
